Three-Day Vacation in Hilton Head

Hilton Head, South Carolina

April 18-21, 2024

My parents and I went to Hilton Head, South Carolina to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Read below to see how we celebrated his special day.

RBC Heritage PGA Tour

My first PGA tour was quite interesting. My parents purchased tickets through Hilton Grand Vacations, which were $100 each. Our package included access to the Skybox, complimentary breakfast, lunch, and unlimited alcoholic drinks. We parked at Honey Horn and took the shuttle to the RBC Heritage PGA Tour. Before boarding the shuttle, we scanned our tickets and received our badges. The journey to Harbour Town Golf Links took twenty-five minutes. My parents and I arrived at 9:00 A.M. Upon arrival, we had a five-minute walk to the PGA tour. The Harbour Town Golf Links has 18 holes, and the area is large. I wished I was wearing tennis shoes because there was a lot of walking, and my feet started to hurt.

We proceeded to our Skybox, situated at the 15th hole, and enjoyed breakfast. On offer were muffins, coffee, granola bars, and tea. Our hostesses then arrived and presented us with souvenir hats, bags, and a guidebook. My dad and I ventured to the first hole and observed the initial pair play golf. Though I’m not an avid golf enthusiast, I found it intriguing to watch the players. As I observed their techniques, I developed a newfound appreciation for the sport. Around 11:00 A.M., my dad and I returned to our Skybox for lunch. The menu included pulled barbecue pork, fried catfish, fried okra, salad, brownies, and cookies.

Throughout the day, we watched golfers play at the 15th hole, and we saw Rickie Fowler and Rory Mcilroy. Later on, snacks were served. The snack menu included chips, Patty Melt, cookies, Pimento Cheese, Bacon Jam, Green Pepper Jelly, and crackers. At 3 P.M., we decided to leave because we grew tired. During our time, we enjoyed ourselves. We made new friends, had the Skybox experience, and watched the game. If there is another opportunity, we will go.

Hilton Head Restaurants

Most of the restaurants in Hilton Head have reservations. My advice to everyone is to get those reservations quickly.

Hilton Head has plenty of restaurants on this island. The most important thing is to MAKE RESERVATIONS!!!

My family and I went to three restaurants, and they were okay. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great. The flavor wasn’t all the way there. Our favorite restaurant out of the three was the Crazy Crab.

Ela On The Water

This restaurant is located at the Shelter Cove and Harbour Shops & Restaurants. We came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We ordered the Berry Fizz, Bees Knees, and the Raspberry Cosmo. I had the Berry Fizz, which was very strong. For Appetizers, we had Ela’s Calamari and a complimentary bread basket, which included Hawaiian Rolls and Hush Puppies. The Ela’s Calamari wasn’t typical because it was long and chewy, and the sauce was Wasabi & Spicy Remoulade. For Dinner, we had the Seafood Scampi Bucatini, Steamed Lobster, and the Malbec Braised Short Rib. Overall, we weren’t a big fan of the restaurant. The food wasn’t bad, but there wasn’t a lot of flavor. Also, it was overpriced.

Sea Grass Grille

This restaurant is located at the Plantation Center. We came here because my dad wanted to try the She Crab Soup since it is an Atlantic dish. We were lucky to get a table since we didn’t make a reservation. My parents ordered the She Crab Soup, and we had complimentary bread and salad. For our meals, we ordered the Grouper Piccata and Chicken Parmesan. For my Chicken Parmesan, I asked to substitute the tomato sauce for Alfredo sauce. This restaurant wasn’t bad, but the food lacked a bit of flavor.

The Crazy Crab

On our last day, we wanted to try another restaurant that wouldn’t be underwhelming. My mom saw this restaurant while we were in Hilton Head, and she wants to give it a try. This restaurant is located at Jarvis Creek. Luckily, we were able to get a table. When we first arrived, I ordered a Frozen Strawberry Margarita. Our waitress gave us complimentary hush puppies, and we ordered calamari as our appetizer. For Dinner, we ordered Blackened Chicken Alfredo and Pick Two Fried Seafood Platters. For the Pick Two Fried Seafood Platter, you can choose from Fillet Flounder, Sea Scallops, Golden Shrimp, East Coast Oysters, New England Clam Strips, and Beer- Battered Fish & Chips with a side of french fries and coleslaw. This restaurant was better than the other two due to the good food.

Coligny Plaza

We visited the Coligny Plaza to see what it was about. Coligny Plaza is a great place to bring friends and family to eat, shop, and go to the beach. The Coligny Plaza consists of boutiques, ice cream shops, and restaurants. The Coligny Beach is a few blocks from the Plaza. The walkway to the Beach has a foundation, changing station, bathrooms, and an outdoor shower. Bring your beach chairs and towels because there isn’t a place to rent them. I recommend going to Coligny Plaza for a nice and peaceful time.

Tanger Outlets Hilton Head

This Tanger Outlet has two shopping centers, Tanger 1 and Tanger 2. They are owned by the same company, but the stores are separated. The store directory shows where the stores are located and the area they are in. If you want to do some shopping, go to the Tanger Outlets.

  1. I love hilton head! I used to frequently as a child, since I live in GA. I haven’t been in years and this makes me want to go back. So special that you could go with your parents.
