Viva Las Vegas: Family Vacation Experience

Las Vegas, Nevada

May 2021

We spent a week in Las Vegas celebrating my brother’s college graduation. Discover the highlights of our time in Las Vegas!

The Stratosphere

The Stratosphere is the tallest building in Las Vegas. The best time to go is on the weekdays due to smaller crowd. During our visit, the X-Scream was unavailable due to maintenance issues. Don’t miss out on the Happy Hour from Mondays to Thursdays between 3 PM and 7 PM, where you can enjoy two drinks for the price of one!

Hell’s Kitchen at Caesar Palace

My brother wanted to go to Hell’s Kitchen for the experience, so it is important you make reservations quickly. Upon entering the restaurant, we encountered a hall of fame showcasing the winners before being escorted to our table. For fans of Hell’s Kitchen, the food reflects what you’ve seen on the show. We ordered two appetizers, which were the Lobster Risotto and the Pan Seared Scallops. I ordered a drink called the Notes from Gordon with a note attached to it. Also, I ordered a 3-course meal for lunch, which were the the Caesar’s Salad, the Beef Wellington, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Despite the high cost, the overall experience, especially the food, was thoroughly enjoyable.

Omega Mart

The Omega Mart is a fun and interactive attraction in Las Vegas. We took pictures, discovered different rooms, looked at art displays, and solved a mystery. To have a better experience, I advise you go when it is not crowded.

Fremont Street

Before we went to Fremont Street, we watched the MJ Live Show at the Strat, which turned out to be enjoyable. Next we went to Fremont Street, which has restaurants, entertainment, and casinos. We ate at Nacho Daddy, and my siblings and I tried the Scorpion Shot. Despite my hesitation, I summoned the courage to take the shot, and I kept the shot glass, considering it a prize and souvenir.

The Strip and Hoover Dam

We strolled along the Strip to look at the architecture. Next, we went to the Hoover Dam, located about 45 minutes away from Las Vegas. Upon arrival, we climbed the steps and took some time to read about the Hoover Dam’s history. Within 15 minutes, we reached the Hoover Dam.

Additional Las Vegas Activities

Below there is a video of the activities we did in Las Vegas. We went to the Linq Promenade to zipline, watched the famous Bellagio Water Show, did a Saw Escape Game.
