A Day in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia

April 20th, 2024

Savannah is a stunning city with a rich history and beautiful scenery. It was a 45-minute drive from Hilton Head, South Carolina. We only had a few hours to explore, but we wished we could have stayed longer to see more. Read more to see what we did in Savannah.

Savannah Recap

We strolled along the Savannah Riverwalk, passing various shops and restaurants. We also came across a flea market offering jewelry, soaps, and clothes. Although we passed by the historic steps, we didn’t stop to explore them. The Steamboat was a great sight to see.

Treylor Park

We ate lunch at Treylor Park. Treylor Park has a small space, so the tables are limited. To get a table, everybody has to be present. My parents and I were present, so the hostess quickly sat us. We ordered the Chicken and Pancakes Tacos, The Patty Melt, and The Roasted Turkey BLT on Brioche. I ordered the Chicken and Pancakes Tacos, which consists of chili aioli and strawberry salsa. The dish was good, but it was very messy. I wished I would have asked for the salsa and aioli on the side, so I could put how much I wanted on my tacos. When I go back, that is what I’ll do.

Candy Stores

We went to two candy stores: River Street Sweets and Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. There was an abundance of sweets and treats to choose from, including popcorn, ice cream, pralines, fudge, rice Krispies, pretzels, Peanut Butter Cups, marshmallows, truffles, caramel apples, bark, and more. I bought an M&M, chocolate-covered Rice Krispies, which cost me $8.51. My parents bought popcorn, pralines, ice cream, and bark. There is something for everyone.

Unfortunately, our stay was short, and we wished we could extend our stay. One day, we will go back and explore more of the city.

  1. I would LOVE to visit Savannah! It looks like such a beautiful city! The architecture looks lovely and those candy stores are unreal! I’m keeping my fingers crossed I have an opportunity to visit in the next couple of years 🤞 thanks for the great guide!

  2. Chicken and pancake tacos! Amazing! Your outfit is so cute! I love the color! Ok, so I have been to Savannah…about 20 years ago. It is such a fun and historic place to visit.

  3. I visited Savannah on a cross country road trip in 2021. We had a dog with us so it limited what we could do but I loved how walkable Svannah was and how charming the squares are.

  4. I’m not usually much of a sweet tooth but everything in this candy store looks so delicious! Savannah looks like a beautiful city to visit, thanks for putting it on my radar
